I have a used b-wear vest for cheap. $40 plus shipping. I think I paid $225 two years ago.
It's an adult size medium, in good shape and does not smell. One of the straps needs to be re-sewn. Easy job but I don't have thread or a needle. And there are some visible wear on the lower front where it rubbed on my kidney belt.
Still plenty of use left and will save your chest. It has saved mine a time or two. Oh, and comes with never used shoulder pads.
