My first ride! What a blast this sport is!

Just took my first ride. Only about 12-15 inches of soft pow on decent base here in NE Oregon. Stayed on the trails for the most part where the snow has a pretty good coverage. After 1st 30 minutes I returned to the cabin to add cold weather panel and some carpet pieces to the radiators. I was having a hard time keeping temps above 105 or so. Once I installed the panel and carpet I am now holding pretty consistently around 160 in the fluff and 190 on trail. This is soo much more fun than snowmobiling and I’m not even riding off trail much yet. A big shout out to everyone on here that helped point me in the right direction during my build!!!

Awesome! So good to read about your first ride. I'll be there soon, we're just waiting for snow and 12/15/2017 as that is when trails open in NH.

I'm also looking forward to riding the DTS 129. Great pics.

I also got the PST covers and have the cold weather panel already installed. I'm also going to start with the radiators blocked on both sides with the magic carpet.

Not sure about fuel economy, I haven’t even looked into the fuel tank yet. On my next ride I’ll be keeping track of ride time on the vapor and check fuel when done to get a better idea.

that's awesome you had a good amount of snow to get the full effect. I tried rushing it and getting out on less then ideal snow. I could tell it would be fun be was frustrated because the snow wasn't there. So more of a heads up to other newbies dieing to get out and ride your new setup. Wait for the snow, if you don't have the snow yet it will suck and potentially can damage your ski.
