10w-40 Amsoil?

I am thinking about getting a 2014 MH kit for my 2012 KX450. I have around 12L of Amsoil 10w-40 Synthetic Motorcycle oil and I was told I should run 0w-40 in my bike. Will I be able to get away with using the 10w-40? I would like to use it all up if I could...I won't be riding in colder than -20C and I am planning on getting a thermostat.

What are your thoughts?

That's pretty thick for a bike in winter. Hard on the oil pump pushing thick oil. And the oil will bypass the paper filter if its too thick. I'd find something else to use it in. Rotella T6 0w40 seems to be used a lot.
