I swapped a 1997 700 twin into a 02 800 RMK chassis . After the crank let go on the 800 I decided to junk it and go with the 700 engine. I'm using the original carbs off the old 800 engine and I just dropped the main jet about three sizes and dropped the needle. I did this last year but never got to ride it so I don't remember what the exact jets are. The needle is in the second from the top position. I finally got to go for a short ride around the house and it runs rich pretty rich on the bottom end and mid range, top end seems to be OK for now but I'm sure I'll have to retune it once I get the midrange issues resolved . This was at 2500 feet and fairly warm. I normally ride at 3500 to 5000 feet so I'm going to be to way to rich with the current needle/needle jet combo. Does anyone have any idea what needle/needle jet combo would work? The 700 is stock except for a single Aaen pipe.

The 2001 700RMK was the same non-ves motor but used rack carbs. I'd start with the jetting chart for it and work from there. Stock it had:
Needle - J8-8DGY-01
Cut away - 2.0
Air jet - .9
Mains - 320/340
Pilot - 45
Starter - 145
