I have a 2002 MXZ X 800 that I rebuilt about about 300mi ago and now it is very hard to pull the engine fast enough to get it to fire up, even at room temp in the shop. I have it back apart and triple checked all the measurements that the service manual gives for run-out, clearance, cumbustion chamber cc, etc.... I checked for any kind of abnormal resistance every step during reassembly. as soon as I put plugs in, it pulls harder than a "normal" engine with the throttles wide open and the exhaust off. pull the plugs and it spins fine all the parts are stock OEM except the can. Thanks for any help or suggestions in advance

I wonder if you put in a diff base thickness of gsk when you rebuilt it.
Doo a compression test and measure squish.
If all you did was replace the parts then it's gotta be something mechanical

When you first rode your sled after the rebuild it wasnt broken in, now is a different story, try working out a little more a week, rent "Over The Top" w/ Sylvester Stallone you'll get it eventually.
P.S - I have a '02 700, my wife cant start it either.
I really don't mean to be rude, I'm just kinda bored
