riding partner has a problem with his clutches overheating and burning his belt. within 2 miles from the trailer he can smell his belt burning? took it to the dealers and they said the alignment is correct. what could be causing this?

Bushings worn out (primary and secondary), causing binding.
Make sure the track rotates freely (pull belt and it should spin freely). If not, track too tight, bad bearing, brake hanging up, etc.
