Towards the end of March, I slid my 2011 Pro into a tree. I twisted the tunnel and broke some bulkhead parts. What to do? I decided to rebuild it this summer. This is what I'm starting with.

Is that rust all over??

Ya I suppose, those are all aluminum parts so it isn't rust but it looks funny for sure….

can we see what the sled looked like prior to impact haha

Got some work ahead of you! So, rebuild back to the same condition, or do you have upgrades planned?

That's the problem. It was pretty well modded as it was. 174 3", extended chain case, garret turbo with water to air intercooler, Boost it controller, Timber sled rear arms, Timber sled 36" A-arms. Misc other parts. I could have bought a replacement sled and put these items on. It just seemed easier to install a Van Amburg Boon Docker tunnel. Mike is making it special with wide running boards and 4130 steel doublers at the junction of the tunnel and bulkhead. There is another thread that shows how weak the Pros are in this area. We'll see what we add as the project progresses.

Well its Christmas in June. Just received my new tunnel. I had Mike at Van Amburg make the running boards 1" wider than stock. Those 4130 steel doublers are really, really stiff.

I thought about it. The tunnel would be easy. The drive shaft wouldn't be hard in a hex design. Moving the engine to get the clutches outboard .5" and moving the chain case .5" would be harder. I'm not sure how to get the outside plastic to fit with everything moved. It just didn't seem to be worth it.

Well it's cooling off around here. We're just starting to put the new pieces on the old pieces. The black steel doublers will really strengthen the sides.

Making progress. Tunnel complete, Chain case, rear suspension and track mounted. Engine is just about installed. Timbersled 36" front end mounted with Powder pros. Lastly the plumbing for the intercooler is in place.

That is fantastic! I really love the blue paint...almost a true yamaha racing blue? Great work and hope you get many many miles with the skis aligned with the tunnel:face-icon-small-coo
