installing lighting and heated grips on 206 ktm 450 xcf

i am in the process of installing a LED headlight bar and heated grips on my 2016 ktm 450 xcf. All the KTMs I have owned in the past had an accessory plug as part of the harness located under the number plate. Apparently this was eliminated in 2016 on the xc and sxf. Obviously, i could just wire it directly to the battery but this runs the risk of draining the battery if I forget turn the switches off. Does anyone have any advise on how to solve this issue?
