I could have sworn that i read that somewhere. Did I dream it????

IF it is true, why isn't Cat and Yamaha out really building this up.

Where might this actually put the yamacat for wet weight.

Anchorage Yamaha has been weighing all kinds of sleds this winter. Heres a post I copied from the sled weighing thread on BCR. Should be close to a '15 MTX which they will weigh as soon as they get the demo in.

For those still interested here is a fully fueled, ready to ride 2014 viper mtn conversion. It is not the 2015 which has shorter a arms, different steering position and more. This sled started as a xtx and stretched to a 162. I'm fairly impressed with this number as everything is stock, not 1 lightweight part on it at all aside from no tail light.

Here's two comparable sleds with equal mods both putting out around 200hp. The Viper is a 153 and the Pro is a 155. All fluids topped off and full fuel ready to ride.

Excellent,

Need more GOOD comparisons like this

Mind giving your opinion on how the extra pounds feel compared to the pro

Love the general lee design on the pro.

Also your mods would be great to know (which turbo and other changes from stock)

Thanks

Here's a stock Pro with the exception of boards, tunnel bracing and skis with a Silber Turbo. Again, full fluids and fuel. The second pic is a half fueled stock Assault with a not ready to ride rider.:face-icon-small-hap

The Viper just got done and hasn't been on the snow yet. There isn't any around here to even test. Here's the build component list:
*MCXpress 190 pump gas turbo kit
*Sled solutions LLC, roll over valve kit
*Hartman Inc. custom clutching
*EZRyde rear suspension
*Powder claw 153x2.6 track
*Patrick Custom Carbon rear tunnel extension
*Skinz concept front end with EvolR shocks
*Skinz Airframe boards
*Skinz front and rear bumpers
*Arctic Cat vertical steering post kit
*SLP Powder Pro skis
*Mo-Flow vent kit
I have a Skinz mountain seat on order and I think I'm going to do the Skinz light weight hood and head light delete kit as well.

The pro climb chassis didn't lose any weight from 14-15. Cat was a very misleading add that I think is a misprint where they say 20lbs. The only real weight loss from 14-15 was in the rear skid idler wheels, maybe a pound or two.the weights for the new yammi powered cat chassis are looking real good though. The m7000/viper coming in at 50-60 lbs less than a cat 1100turbo.

From what I've been told a viper with turbo and 163 is only about 25 ish pounds more then a stock xm 163. If this hold true and you could get it lighter then a stock 2 stroke with aftermarket help it would be hard to not jump ship.

Bought it from a Cdn wholesaler, 150 dollars... Not sure if I can find the name, but check eBay...I have found it takes the bs out of the bs... But keep in mind it will not work on sleds above 650lbs... Over it's weight limit:face-icon-small-win

We just weighed my 2014 Viper yesterday. Real world weight....full of fuel with about 5-10lbs of snow (just came down the mountain) and it was 666lbs. 2014 Viper with 270mcx kit, stretched to 162 w/ 2.5" challenger extreme track and narrowed to 38" stance. Add in my tunnel bag and 2.5gal Jerry can and it was 705lbs which is what it would be when I'm riding it. I was really expecting it to
Be less cause it feels WAY lighter than my 1100 Proclimb I had last year

Ya I wish we would've but you can't get much better real world riding weights than after coming right off the hill. Of the 6 or 7 guys that were there to witness it we all agreed it had to be 5-10lbs of snow.
