I know they are both 35mm taper but does it work?

if I remember the offset was too far off to make it work. set them on the bench next to each other and you will see the fixed chive is about 1/2" off.
FWIW this was a long time ago.

That's what I was thinking, I don't have one to compare. Would be nice to put the team primary on. Wonder if you could have a 800 team cut to work on the 1k?
