I am looking for some information for a friend. He just picked up a 1997 Powder Extreme (don't ask why :frusty:). The motor was junk so he rebuilit it (don't ask me why :face-icon-small-dis). Seeing as it came from CO and will now be used in WI he is in need of getting the carbs and clutches set up for 1,500' elevation. Does anyone have the spec chart? Specs needed for this altitude?

Thanks in advance!

I had a 1999 ZRT 600 triple basically the same motor. I would have to dig up the info for you. 36mm carbs if I remember correctly.

Would be close but the ZRT does not have the altitude compensator. I am not sure how large of altitude range the compensator was able to adapt to. However if you have a chart for spec that would be great. Especially if nobody else has the info.

Thanks

Be careful with that, as the '99 ZRT 600 had flatslide rack carbs, while the '97 Powder Extreme had roundslides.

There should be a jetting chart on the clutch cover.

Mine was a preseason snow check sled. Removed it from the crate in the shop. We did 3 of these, 1 as a RMSHA race sled, all were long tracked and track exchange program from 121's to 136's and then 144 on mine. All the ones we did were also round slides. Maybe early as you said. They were Limited models too? maybe the diff??:face-icon-small-coo

So I found a service manual for a 2008 today. It say that with the Mikuni Altitude Compensator the only jetting changes that need to be done are for temperature. We found 360 mains and stock was 370's. Pilots were 50's as per factory spec. Have to see how she go when it snow!
