Save your money.

Use the money you have saved for mods, sell the 550F, and upgrade to a liquid. Even a sled a couple years older then the fan will be far superior. I did the whole "lightweight modded fan" thing twice - once in the 80's, and again for my wife when she started riding - trust me, you will be money ahead in the long run by going to a liquid.

I agree. I did the fanner mod once. You just can't get much out of them before overheating is an issue.

I had so much into that I could have bought an 800 and had twice the power and would not have been replacing pistons every month from burndowns.

The only reason to buy the 550 is for light weight, now the TNT is over 50 lbs lighter than fan. I built my 08 TNT into a mod mtn sled with a full wet weight of only 450 lbs!! A less radical one than mine would be maybe 470lbs wet.

My wifes sled is a 05 550 rev summit and the T makes it feel like a very heavy 90's sled. So am probably going to do a 09 into a mtn mod for the wife with electric start.

Good Luck
