No leaner than about 12.5 and try and keep it from ritchening up beyond about 13.8 at any point other than idle. Wide open should be right at 13.

Huh? 13 is leaner 12.5. Air to fuel ratio. 13 parts air to 1 part fuel.

The higher the number the leaner it is, just goes to show you real cant take any adivice on the is forum with out knowing the sender, way too many people who like to spew out crap they have no idea about or read somewhere else.

Just picked up a 2009 M8 with the OVS tial system. What would be the AFR numbers I should be looking for. Running 100LL @ 9500'

Thanks

do not know anything about your package but have an AEM gauge on my 2010cfr 800 stock at the moment...and what I see stock-
-light throttle to lower mid range 15
-upper mid range 12-13
-WOT 11.2
thinking the AFR numbers may not be that accurate other than WOT on a 2 stroke?? but good for before and after comparisons I suppose?

14.5 to15.5 idle

You dont have to worry about idle that much. I have run mine at 16 on idle with no probs, however I now run it at 14.00 at idle.
-
Better to be fat than lean.
So adjust it starting with it fat then going a little leaner.
and
Adjust your fuel, one color at a time.
-
Make sure you are running the best fuel possible like sunoco 112

WOT – 11.2 to 11.9 if I get into the 12’s I get out of it.
Mid - 13.5 to 15 lots of blipping
Idle – 14.5 to ---

2010 M8 Cutler Stage II at 6.5psi. I add one gallon of AV gas to a tank with a splash of oil, Av gas brings the EGT’s down as well. Burn looks good.

Hope this helps.

My 09 M8 CPC pump gas at just shy of 6psi runs like a turd unless i see 12.5 to 13 at WOT. Made me nervous at first, but talked to a handful of guys that say the same thing. 12.2 and im short on RPM. 94 Chevron pump.

I’m getting 8100 – 8200rpm, if I get into the 12’s my egt’s start to warm up. Its not instant but on a longer pull it starts to get warm. Do you have egt gauge and where are your temps?

Running Chevron 94 as well.

No egts, just an aem wideband. They aren't always perfect, and no sled is totally alike. I've aimed for a 12.0, and just find it won't pull, not making the power or running clean, get it up so I see a 12.5-12.7 and it's happy and pulls hard. I checked the plugs and they look decent, mind you not a good plug chop... and no I'll effects in 400 or so miles. I too put a shot of oil in the fuel to be a bit safer.
