05 900 bottom gear change

I swapped my stock gearing from 25/37 to 24/38. Everything seems to go in fine, but I noticed that the bottom gear seems to have a little play in it. It slides side to side on the shaft. Is this normal, or supposed to be this way ?

Sounds like you left oput a spacer behind the gear. Can't remember if the 900 had one or not. Check an on-line parts retailer for the microfiche picture and you will see what you need.

need spacer

I just did the same thing. My Team hyvo gear cam with a spacer to make it the same height as the stock.
