cracked tunnel

i cracked my tunnel out west last year its about 6 inches long going straight from the back of the tunnel across thr heat exchanger. the exchanger is fine but would it be better to weld the tunnel or just put an aluminum plate over the crack and rivet it back together or should i do both?

If you weld it ,it will just crack by the weld. I would Make a nice looking plat and do a good job with the rivets. Not sure what sled your working on.

what kinda sled is it on. if it is a M i might have the back half of a tunnel that i be willing to part with.
