Under normal riding conditions the bolt shouldn't bend. The only way the bolt is taking load is if the rubber pad is worn out. If the pad is worn out it could bend the bolt but it would in any position wide or narrow, the middle position would be the most likely to bend if that was the case. May be your dealer has seen bent bolts, can't say. I have seen A arms ripped off and the bolts are fine. That being said if you hit anything hard enough it will bend / break.
