All of the 2016 AXYS mountain sleds with QuickDrive™ will have the 7 tooth drivers. ALL of the 2016 QuickDrive™ equipped sleds will have gearing of 22 tooth top, 43 tooth bottom...with a GEAR ratio of 1.96:1... 2.23:1 FINAL DRIVE RATIO w/7 tooth

On the 2016 chain-drive SKS and ASSAULT with the 2.25" Peak track...(edit) the drivers are still 7-tooth, 2.86" pitch with 20/40 gearing. (2.0:1 GEAR RATIO... 2.27:1 FINAL DRIVE RATIO w/7 tooth)

The Chaincase equipped 3"-lug PRO RMK's/Assaults will have the 7 tooth drivers on them with 19/44 gearing for a gear ratio of 2.33:1, 2.53:1 FINAL DRIVE RATIO w/7 tooth.

The 2016 AXYS PRO-RMK with the 155", 2.86"-pitch series 2.6 tracks that we drove had the 7-tooth drivers on them... we actually saw this on the sleds when the Polaris engineers tipped the sleds on their sides and pointed, specifically, the 7 tooth drivers and the series 2.6 track.

So what is the Actual Center to Center distance, Jack shaft to Drive shaft? Or the tooth count on the new belt? and I can calculate it from there.








From scaling the pics, I'm guessing about 200mm center to center and a 70 Tooth belt at their proprietary 11mm tooth pitch.
Which is only 9mm longer than the previous QD. Hardly worth the effort. IMO

Im curious to see if there will be away to use any combination of the 13-15 gears/belt to come up with a lower ratio on the 16 using factory parts.

Doesnt some one offer an add-on belt tensioner for the OEM belt? Maybe we could use the longer belt and smaller upper pulley with a tensioner? Eric

too bad theres no 163 sks indeed...

A little birdy told me that there is no more clearance in the new chassis than the old chassis. While the 2.5 will fit with the 8 Tooth drivers, you scrub a lot of potential track speed with the outer paddles hitting the coolers up front at the choke point. In the center you have plenty of room for either. If you want to run 8 tooth drivers you should trim the outer paddles about a 1/4" to keep them off the coolers and maximize your track speed potential and minimize the scrubbing at the choke point.

It is no secret I hate the small drivers, and will be doing a real drop and roll, or trim the outer paddles of the 2.6" and run 8 tooth drivers.

We now know the 3" paddle tracks are using a 3" pitch 7 tooth driver.

If the SKS and Assault are using a 2.25" lug Peak track (originally 2.25" lug/ 3" pitch was Yamaha's version of 2.5" Peak--called the Ascent) are they 3" pitch or 2.86" pitch???

So what is the conversion factor to figure final drive ration with a 7 tooth driver? For example, 2.15 gear ratio with a 7 tooth driver vs. a 2.10 gear ratio with 2015 8 tooth driver?

I sure hope so...

Considering how much everyone is bragging about how well the axys is working I do not think the 7" drivers are much of an issue. I ( and many others ) have run them on more than 1 mod sled and would bet most people would never be able to tell the difference between 7 or 8 tooth drivers. Once clutched and geared right there is very little difference Imo.

the 3inch is perfect @ 2.31, As I mentioned 2.3 to 2.4 are the preferred ratios. My personal 3 inch is 2.3 as well and puts me at a 1-1 shift on a climb. No one can argue with any creditability that the gearing is the problem.
