Whats wrong with the 610 compared to the 650 ?

Probably nothing wrong with it. I've got both and like them both. More memory on the 650, different batteries on the 650. Neither Has given any issues.
I have two 610s that I'm probably going to sell this fall. The issue I have with mine has to do with how well it transmits. The 610 is a 1-watt radio where the 650/655 are 5-watt. That equates to better transmit range in the GMRS bands. There have been times when others couldn't hear me over their radios, though it's rare. I'm chalking that up to the wattage.
On the plus side, the battery life is great. I use rechargeables and can get almost two days of riding out of them. My wife and I have 8 batteries each and rotate a charged set of four out each day, but if we forget it's good to know that we aren't dead in the water.
