flooding sucks, and i do have a question.

is this 500 year flood worse than the one in 1993?

he he, good point, the problem I heard is the statistics that people have been using don't account for all the changes to the river height that happen when you start building levies and the like....

First of all different than Katrina because at least in the mid west we are smart enough to live above sea level.
As for worse than 1993, "their" statistics say about the same dollar wise but about half as many homes damaged, probably because the other half never rebuilt after 1993, there were many different circumstances in 1993. I did talk with a guy back in May and he predicted it would happen then. I have been involved in both of them and I do not think 08 was any where near 1993.
