Recently picked up a 2010 600 dragon switchback with 2500 miles. Took it out finally the other day and noticed it wont rev past 7000 and will only go about 70 mph. Also noticed that if you get going and hold it wide open it will just die out then rev up and keep doing that for awhile and eventually clears out. Its fine if you ease into the throttle. Exhaust valves have been cleaned and seemed to operate fine, tried a new belt but disnt help, when the new belt was on it made the clutches kind squeek until they engaged. Any ideas?

With a new belt u gotta reset belt deflection on the driven clutch. It’s running to tight. Look for the Allen screw with the lock nut, back it out a little.

As far as the no rev issue it’s always good to start with the basics like fresh gas, fresh plugs, do a compression test. U say valves are clean but I’d make sure bellows are good, springs are good and that there’s exhaust smoke coming out the solenoid tube. Prolly good to do a fuel pressure test as well.

Primary clutch spring may be broken. If the fuel filter has never been changed it may not be letting enough fuel through. I know it's old tech now with CFI but how do the plugs look?
