I predict there will be alot of paid members with new user names. Just a hunch.:face-icon-small-hap

That's funny right there!

If I were a betting man, I'd bet you're right - It's easier than back tracking on disparraging statements, and swearing you'd never pay...

:peep:

glad i never said that I wouldn't pay...

...publicly.

... It takes a special kind of person to be a good moderator, its alot harder than most people think. I don't know your history, but having been on both sides of this situation, I will say that both sides need to use alot of tact, and keep a level head and an open mind.

I was an admin on one of the largest RC forums on the internet, as well as an admin on a few other forums that I was commissioned to build from the ground up. It is hard work that requires a level head, a comitment to the forum, and a strong constitution.

I don't do it anymore... it didn't pay well enough...

You very well could be right.
There have been a real surge in new members of late, and loads of them are alters.

Can't always tell if that is a devious thing or not though.
Just have to sit back and see what they do with their new accounts.

I do not a whole lot of people feel they have been bullied into a corner on this upgrade issue. They feel pressed to conform to the desires of other highly vocal members of SnoWest.

This next week will be interesting to be sure.

well i bought a cat when i worked at yamaha...i don;t think it gave a good perception..
So far as I know, every single brand is well represented by the various members of the SnoWest Staff. Unlike the other Admins, I have chosen to list my sleds because there was concern among the members that I did not own any sleds nor was I a sledder. Thus I am once again trying hard to address fears that are not based in reality. So far this year I have managed to go sledding at least once a week, and a few times twice a week.

I am the first person to admit that I have MUCH yet to learn about this sport. I bought the Yamaha's in great part because that platform is SO conducive to upgrades and modifications while still retaining a very high level of dependability. With a wife and 4 children, my days of Parachuting and Cave Diving are behind me. Thus I do not see myself doing any big air maneuvers or chute climbing. What I needed were rock solid sleds that would run and run and run some more.

You might be surprised at how dedicated the opposition is to making sure they can keep coming back and causing trouble here on SnoWest, Ban or otherwise.

I am tracking 1,101 currently known "ALTER" accounts on SnoWest.

Those are all people who have come back in and created 1 or more additional accounts. Banning them doesn't stop them. Deleting them doesn't stop them. Banning their IPs doesn't stop them.

Those that wan't to cause trouble are highly motivated by their spite, hatred, Anger, animosity, ect, and take great joy in coming over here just to stir the pot and raise as much contention as they are able to.

Are you positive about this.........because in my case you couldn't be farther from the truth.......just sayin.

Yes, I have multiple accounts.......Yes, a lot of people do and you are most likely understating that number of alter accounts by at least 4-5 thousand.

However, I did not create these accounts because of you or anything you have done. I have had most of them for years and yes, some were created to get around a timeout, but others were created simply for harmless reasons of not remembering passwords or switching to a new computer......

The funny thing out of this whole situation is you have brought this all on yourself Chris. In your attempt to puff up the membership numbers, when you rolled the site into 'snowestonline', all these old accounts that were at some point banned, invalid, or just plain unused......guess what, they became active again. so now you have chaos........good job! you have no one to blame here but yourself..... I think you too can see the irony in this and can look back now and maybe done a few things differently.

you almost make it sound like there is some conspiracy to bring snowest down.......Koolaid anyone?

did you run a parachuting forum and a cave diving forum into the ground at some point and now you decided to pick up snowmobiling?

Ouch!

Nice shot though.

Not much point in trying to argue one way or another anymore. The decision has been made. We rolls our dice, we moves our mice, and nobody gets hurt...except probably the purist community that once existed here.

See, there I go again...
