Many of you have probably seen this already, at least I hope you have because it came through the SAWS channels. I'll post this here so folks coming from out of state will be aware of it and could possibly make it if they are in the area. It wouldn't be a bad idea to plan a ride in the Anaconda area for the 3rd then attend the class. An hour of class is better than nothing.

Please pass this invitation on:

With recent news of Avalanche Activity throughout the Northwest, it is important for anyone planning outings into avalanche prone areas to become aware of the facts and safety practices prior to making an outing into such a location. The Anaconda Snowmobile Club cordially invites ALL interested members of the public to an informative presentation by the education coordinator for The Friends of the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center.
This is a non-profit group founded to support The Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center in Bozeman , MT. Through their annual fundraising efforts they are able to provide FREE 1 hour avalanche awareness talks to winter backcountry enthusiasts. The presentation will include a 1-hour video and slide presentation covering terrain, weather, snowpack and human factors as they relate to avalanche safety for all backcountry users.

Date: Tuesday, February 3, 2009
