I thought it would be more beneficial to post the number on the scale then the kit, if you haven't seen a picture of both kits your in the wrong topic.
I got no reason to skew the numbers. If you got 2016 numbers (which you seem to have) post them WITH a picture of the kit.
The 2016 kit i was weighing had the old style bumper but from what i was told was the only update that had to be done to that kit(minimal weight change)
And comparing a 2016 yeti to a 2014 ST. Dont make much sense to me. Apples to apples dont they say??

Can you even put a gas can or tool bag on a yeti tunnel ?

Weight differences maybe interesting, but lets see some side by side shootouts of uphill drag racing in soft snow of at least 12" of fluff or more. Same bikes, riders switching bikes, etc. That"s what will show which kit will get up on the snow and accelerate the best. I think its all about suspension design, so the machine wont trench, than it is overall weight. Have I missed it, or why hasn't Yeti and CMX posted vidios of a shootout?

We want to throw our hat in the ring, so we just went and measured our pre-production unit including ski, chain, and fit kit (including gas can) and here are the results. The actual final weight may be plus or minus a pound. (in case the picture turns out a little blurry it says 129.5)

So for a base line it looks like ST to ST its TS 142 lbs. vs. Yeti at 107.5 lbs. so 34.5 lbs.

Dang those Yeti's are feather light. TS vs Yeti you are paying 147$ per pound. I am really impressed with what Moto-trax is offering. All seem to be decent options just depends how much cash you have and what company you believe in.

If the Yeti had more travel it would be very desireable.
We launched the prototypes off of all kinds of stuff and never felt it bottom out. The heavier units will require that extra suspension just to soak up the extra weight. We did drops and down hill jumps and thought there would be no way the unit could handle it. Even cased a couple of downhill descents that had hidden faces and thought we had to bend something and still didn't feel it bottom out. However, in that one case we broke one rail but that was before they went to Ice Age aluminum rails. My $.02!

If the belt drive works like it does on the sleds that would be an advantage right there . Belts do not have the flinging mass that a chain does . That is also why I will not put a chain on my Hawk like so many others have , it affects the machines response whether your on or off the throttle .
Ya if you take the 35lbs weight reduction, 2.5" track, and the ease of which the track spins that is a serious performance increase. Not to mention the engineering of all the other parts such as a brake that works, belt drive, chain adjustment with the eccentric, and its style, its really a great kit !
I got some more weights done last night. All weights are complete kits with a standard hard tail fit kit, ski, spindle, and chain.
