Johnny and I both use the true north adventure gear lightning backpack. I love mine. has a separate pocket for your shovel. Expandable to hold TONS of stuff. Plus has a place for your camel bak bladder if you like to run like that.

might wanna look into the ogio flight jacket vest. distributes the weight more evenly around you, and items you need frequently can go in the front pockets - no pulling off your pack and diggin thru it.
has seperate compartments for probe, handle, shovel blade, hydration. been using one for 4 years now. it rocks!!

Abs Freeride. If you are going to spend some money, buy one that may help improve your chances if the unthinkable happens..
Otherwise, I had an Ogio DrJ? before. It was a wonderful backpack.

How do the packs feel as your ride I am riding with an old dakine snowboard pack and it tends to get in the way when turn to look at a line and it pinches around my neck cause the shoulder straps are to close together.

I ride with an Ogio Three 6 pack....has a slot for your shovel and water bladder. Extremely comfortable. Has been through it all and is still in great shape. Only trouble is I don't think they make them anymore.

I was given a fly racing back pack by some one on here a coupld years ago. I cant remember for the life of me who it was. If the person that gave it to me reads this thanks again. I love that back pack. The next pack I get (depending on funds) will be an ABS pack, just incase.

Why wear a bag that just holds your stuff when you can get one that will help you breath or float and protect you if you are in an avalanche? Check out the avalung packs (Black Diamond) or one of the new airbag packs (BCA, Airbag Systems or Snowpulse).

I have used a Burton Snow Boarders pack for several years now and it works great. I would like to get an Avalanche inflateable pack of some kind in the future.
