2017 m8000 primary spring change?

wanting to change primary spring in primary
clutch. it appears i can just remove cover put in new spring
or does the whole clutch have to come off? thanks

Just the outer cover is all you need to remove. It should be marked with a X make sure it lines up with the other marks. This is for balancing purposes. It is under pressure so remove it carefully and try to keep it straight as possible on the shaft.I remove every other bolt then the last 3 remove evenly and hold spring pressure by hand for final removal. The bolt torque for the cover is 120 in-lb.

i think i did 8 foot pounds with on my old a$$ wrench. iirc it took about 6 pounds to get them to back off so...
i used blue loctite.
id clamp it up somehow next time, shes spring loaded for sure!
careful how you thread them in on re-assembly, i could see somebody doing this all wrong.
