Yes, you are correct. A tether is required because if you were to tip over and lose oil, the engine would keep running.

I would recommend a tether an ANY snowmobile, but a Four Stroke Solutions tether is a must on all four strokes to keep you oil from making a mess and to keep from losing oil in a roll-over.

My understanding is that this "fix" just fools/bypasses the sensor....perhaps a resistor??

That's why the Tether is crucial. With the override in place the motor will destroy itself rather than shut down in a low oil/pressure scenario.

nytro motor dosnt have the switch thats why the viper has the issue & nytro didnt.
