Just ad oil and gas if you feel the need for better shocks after a while there are many good options. I would not do any suspension mods before trying a simple upgraded on shocks. I ran elkas on my last sled and it was phenomenal what it did to that sled no need for big mods once you have quality adjustable shocks. That said I will run my stock ones for a while and have the Elkas reworked for the 850.
The stockers really start to fade after 500 miles. X Package ones should be better and can also be reworked.

Just turn the torsion blocks to 5 and lighten the center shock preload as light as you can. A good rear shock will also help a lot. Or you could get the exit torsion delete for $600 and it would be much better.

I've always turned my torsion blocks to 5 as well. Some will argue, but it has always helped me with trenching. When you say the center shock as light as you can, you mean stiffen it up? Where do you put the limiter strap? Do you set the front suspension as soft as you can as well?

Thanks

I may be all wet but on my XM I had the rear torsion spring on 3 or 4, the center shock on 2, limiter in stock hole. Ski shocks on 2.

I'm going to try the same setting on the new one and see what happens. I have an SP so my shocks have the cam.

I'm 210 lbs in gear and went up one hole in limiter strap and to 3 on the torsion blocks. That's a 2015 154. Just the right mix of climbing ability and playfulness I found. Also went to 2 on front shocks.
