Don't know if this is the place to ask but wondering if anyone has any experience with the 1999 Yamaha VK540 II, reliability, durability, ability to pull trail groomer etc.
looking for a versatile utililty sled

I have a friend who has had one for at least 10 yrs now(I think his is a 97 or 98)..it has been a good sled, it wont come close to pulling with the super wide doos(24 in track),but other wise it does fine..I think a newer 1 1/4 in track would help over the 3/4 in. track ....

Thanks for the information, I know the older MM Yammies were bulletproof and ran forever, hadn't heard too much about their utility sleds, the Bravo was supposed to be reliable. Just want something to do trail work, pull loaded skimmer and as a backup sled for occasional grooming on the cheap.

Yep. They are a great old workshorse. The 4stroke version is really sweet, but for the price, it would be hard to beat the old 540.
