Well, I'm going to see how big you can go. Almost ready to test the new long track. I'm going for maximum float in deep snow and not too concerned about nimbleness.

I was originally thinking I'd try a track in the 155" range but I found the 163" cheap. Lot of guys going to 3" tracks on their sleds so there's quite a few of these 163s around it seems. Got a little more work on the custom rail extensions before it's ready. I'm adding 14" to the rails.

The ski has already been tested and surprisingly I don't find it too big. I built it in the middle of last season and have been riding it since. I went extremely wide to start thinking I could cut it down until I found the right size. Turns out I didn't chop it at all. 16" wide and 5'8" long. CRAZY FLOAT

Yeah, that's a 6.6 gallon tank. The monster ski floats it fine.

Hopefully will test the track this weekend. I'll let ya'll know if it's too much or not.

I gotta ask. I only see two small bolts holding the extension to the rail. Is there any other support? Maybe I just can't see it in the pictures. Just don't see things going well if its only the two bolts.

Hahahahaha! 12 feet long tip to tail! In surfer speak, Longboard or Big Gun.

Better hang onto that 156 at least till after this beast gets a test.

Extensions are far from done. Just a few bolts holding them in place right now. Got some more machining and welding to do.
I didn't figure as much, but had to ask. Definitely gonna be a tractor with that much track hanging out the back.

Yo Madmax! If you're not embarrassed about going with a dude riding a tank/boat anchor ;) yep, lets hook up sometime. I'm in SLC also.

The Mountain Horse rails already have a turn-up so I just followed that strait out. The very end of the track should be quite a bit off the snow on hardpack. Looking to finish this mod up tomorrow and perhaps test Friday.

Got the proto type rails ready and installed. Looks like everything clears. I'll run it in the garage tomorrow to make sure it turns good then on the snow Saturday!

Looks Killer. Would like to know some details on the bike if you don't mind sharing. The no back fender is sweet and is your exhaust custom?
