Net weight loss
Just trying to add up the weight loss here, but say I purchase a TKI kit and want to maintiain oil injection;
stock case, oil tank, chain, gears = 11 lbs.
injection oil 0.98 gal x 7.62 lb/gal = 7.4 lbs.
stock total = 18.4 lbs.
TKI kit, w/o oil = 5 lbs.
injection oil 0.5 gal x 7.62 lb/gal = 3.8 lbs.
TKI total = 8.8 lbs.
Total savings 18.4 lbs - 8.8 lbs. = 9.6 lbs.
Am I reading your post right Tom, or does the 5 lbs include the oil?
Also, does the 11 lbs for the stock case, gears, etc. include the aluminum bottom gear that some of the 2014's have or the heavy steel gear?
Sorry not trying to nit pick, just trying to figure out what the total weight savings could be for my application.
Thanks.
