My Buddy wants to put a BB Kit on his 14 ZR 8000, What kit is producing the best power and still reliable for trail riding?

I know D&D has a 901,

Speedwerx I think is a 925,
Bikemen 940
and SSI 950
He wants to stay around the $2,500- 3 K range. Thanks

I've been really happy with my 900 BMP kit. I feel like it's putting out the power they advertise. It's the full $4k kit though. And when I got it through BDX on the Pro-lite package sled It didn't come with the timing key installed. Kevin at Hubs Performance set me up with a Power Commander with timing and it woke it up noticably. 2500ish miles on it now. It's getting a new set of reeds now, but it could have used them a while ago. I will say the BMP powder lite muffler was louder than I cared for and didn't fit the best. I also had to put a weld on the pipe on the underside where the mount is above the clutch. This was at 1800 miles. It's not the only aftermarket exhaust I've had to reweld after some miles.

I see they offer 3 different options, which did you run? Did it produce the power you thought it would?

I ran it with the high compression head and I used the slp complete exhaust I had with the stock injectors. It pulled really hard better than some pump gas turbo setups I ran across. I ran mds weights in the primary clutch and a team tied for the secondary

What elevation? BB work great down low...but up higher, turbo is king. Looking at model, assuming you are low?

Have always heard good things about the RK Tek 925 as well, but can't speak from experience. Just didn't see that one on the list. Know it used to be very popular.

I have about 1300 miles on my rk tek 925 and never had an “engine” issue but rk tek’s Tuning sucks! Once you get it tuned it runs hard

I spoke to RK on the phone and they were not the most helpful I was looking to buy some parts from them last year but ended up going with another company. The SSI Kit seems to be well liked.

I'm hoping there are more reviews on the 950 ssi kit. low and high elevation, I've heard they like using a double base gasket down low because of tight squish.

I've found Kelsey at RK Tek to be very helpful and knowledgeable, and his 925 kit is the one that produces HP the other manufacturers strive to meet.
