My buddy lost his key for his 02 rmk,do you just unplug the key switch to by pass,or cut wires and hook them together?

Just unplug it. It will default on and in the premium mode.

Or
Disconnect the SINGLE black wire coming from behind the recoil housing (black wire not hooked to anything = engine will start & run)
Hook that to a switch if you want to, when you ground that to the chassis it shuts it off.
Or
POLARIS only has (4) different keys, identified by 1,2,3 or 4 "dots" on them.
Chances are another one of your buddies keys will work
