I would sure hope that for $5555 the other two are included with the short block. Even if they are that's a pretty expensive motor.
Shortblock has pretty much everything if you chucked a rod or something, no need for crank seperate. and should all be warrantied since they are all less then a year old.
Everyone can blame Poo for the ridiculous price, the 11-12 engines is when they went out of the world with the price. One of the main reasons I wouldn't own a poo that wasn't under warranty! Looks like Doo will be the same from now on.
The block has crank and pistons. It does Not include the head or gasket kit.

How is it that a shortblock no longer includes the crank assembly and cylinders or is your post just that misleading?
I think there was a misunderstanding what a shortblock consists..

break a rod and it goes through case and cracks cylinder skirt..

Still, ouch!! My new BB for the ole R motor is cheap compared to that.
GM Goodwrench 350 V8 long block crate motor for my old beater '84 GMC is less then $1700 !! Granted it's not much more HP then Doo 850. ?

wow, those are some nutty prices. makes the consequences pretty severe if you go the turbo route and blow one up
Or if you leave it stock and rod goes through case at 2,000mi and the schrapnel takes out both clutches.....if only warranty work didn't take forever. FYI right now i bet you couldn't buy a short block anyways.

The dealer is installing a short block in my sons summit G4 as i type.PTO bearing not getting oil,as per dealer.:face-icon-small-dis

i believe there is no bottom end oiling to the bearings in these motors. "permanent" grease is used instead. always been a skeptic of it.
