083 or 084 belt for M6000

Hey guys...I recently purchased a hold over M6000. First and foremost, I absolutely love the sled. Now my question...

The M6000 comes with an "083" belt stock. When I purchased the sled, the dealer threw in a brand new spare belt. I was going to break that belt in this past weekend and noticed the belt I was given as a spare was an "084" belt. I called the dealer and they said those two belts are the same dimensions, but the 084 (which appears to come stock on an M8000) is a harder compound belt so they recommend it for the M6000 as well.

Any real world experience with this? Trying to confirm that the dealer isn't full of crap...

Any help would be appreciated.

I run an 83 on my wife's 2015 600 and an 84 on my 2016 800 limited. I wouldn't switch belts on the same sled unless you want to change clutching slightly because they will run different RPM with the different belts even though though they are the same size because of the compound they are made with. I have never felt there is a need for the 84 on the 600.

If it was me I'd sell the new 84 and buy a spare 83 and stick the extra $100 in your pocket.
