essentially it's just a counter... it's going to be as accurate as the on-board crystal assuming all the mechanical parts are functioning correctly. Hall-effect sensors are solid-state and require zero maintenence.

It'll be far more accurate/reliable than any fully mechanical RPM gauge IMO.

Mule that was a good understandable explanation of why in 22 years every digital sled tach tested here has matched exactly the digital tach on the SuperFlow dyno. This includes $500 aftermarket units as well as $75 Stihl chainsaw tachs. That's why we always suggested that sledders use cheap battery powered Stihl chainsaw tachs that clip onto a plug wire to calibrate those often way-off stock dial tachs, if they want to clutch to my website dyno data.
