Was looking at the fit chart and noticed their isn't a fit kit listed for a wr450 and a sx kit. Can it be done and they just don't list it or isn't it possible?

Is your WR PDS suspension or linkage? They only make SX kit for linkage bikes.

Don't know what pds is but wr's have linkage suspension. I don't have a wr yet but that's what I was planning on getting until I saw there isn't a fit kit for them.

I have a 2012 WR with the SX kit you can make it work TS has all the fit kit parts. You will need to make your own chain tensioner because the lower
subframe of the WR interferes with the stock tensioner.

I am out of Town right now , will take a pic when i get home.

All I used is a chunk of 3/4 inch thick Plastic drilled one hole than pushed the other end down to tension up the chain drill a second hole put a bolt in it and done.

I too would like to put an sx on a wr. Called timbersled and they couldn't tell me why it wouldnt fit, other than they probably just haven't had one in the shop. Did you order a YZ fit kit and then just make your tensioner from there?

Lets call your experience a lack thereoff :face-icon-small-hap

Let's not.... Never seen a WR do well on single track or any other kind of trail. The riders I've seen are always bitching they can't keep up, they don't have enough power, their bikes are too heavy, gearing to wide. And the ones I rode felt like 250's not 450's

And they are crazy heavy, 275lbs! My 500XC-W is only 245lbs

DieselTwitch --- Your statments confirm's my last post.
There may just be a reason these guys want to use there WR you just do not know it.

cheers……..

Or his buddies were running stock WRs without the anti-EPA fixes... half throttle makes any bike feel down on power...

kit fittin

I have swapped my kits from 03-06 vintage wr and yz's and yz 250, spacers and struts all fit the same ?

3rd year on my discarded sick 03 wr450, hp between yz wr very small, hp and picking rev's often confuse, lots of great threads on making fast street bikes out of wr's and yz motors are not faster but different.

long steep hill two weeks ago nice sno and smoooooth, my wr and ktm 450 spanked easily by ktm 250 ring a ding, if ya got the room, a 50hp little 250 will humble, but then in 4ft of fresh........not so wonderful.
