I am not dissapointed with the 177 hp turbo, its not like arctic cat cant make a 240hp 1100, i think its more of a liability issue. i guarantee the motor will have a sh1tload of potential.

well then life in general should be a huge disappointment to you fella:light:

thinking a stock 4 smoke would near 500lbs is a dream, and a dumb one:face-icon-small-win

my 05 RT was 570lbs out of the crate

this 4 smoke being near 550lbs is a huge win:face-icon-small-hap

Ya, I know. Thought Cat might pull a rabbit out of their hat. If it could be lightened up maybe 30lbs I might be able to live with it. All depends how it handles. If it is nose heavy or neutral handling.

I have a 2010 z1t ext and with several mods it makes 300hp. A hijacker and meth kit lets you run that with pump gas on the stock turbo. Pushes 26-28psi boost for about $2k. I was told 70lbs lighter in the xf chassis compared to the ext, the nice thing is the chaincase. I will be selling my 2010 for a 2012 with a billet 2860. 400hp+ in a much more managable chassis plus a 60 shot to keep me up with the big boys.

WOW I think some people had some pretty high expectations. I think it is pretty unreasonable to think that cat was going to be able to pull off a 500 pound four stroke. No matter where you shave the weight you are always going to have to contend with the fact that you are dealing with a heavy motor. I hate to admit but I agree with hatchers in the low to mid 5s is a good feat. I am not a cat guy but I kinda feel bad for cat for being in a no win situation. It looks as if they did'nt build the 400 pound m8 and 450 pound t1100 like everyone was speculating so obviously everyone is dissapointed. However if cat did come through and meet expectations they would be killed the next year when everyone folds them up like pretzels. I guess your damned if you do or don't!
