Rubber boot fix

Wondering what everyone has done with the zip ties on the rubber boot coming out of the bulkhead? My ties fell off and sucked the boot inside. There seems to be a plastic spacer that the ties go on. Can a guy just take that off and tighten it up good?

Noticed the same thing on my 850, but with past experience with Polaris and a similar set-up, I would put plastic spacer/bushing back in and zip to that again!:juggle:
