anyone shave primary weights?

i was thinking about taking off 1 gr. to get me closer to where i want to be. anyone have suggestions on where? heel? tip?

I usually try to copy the cat "lite tip" weights and take it off at the tip in a similar fashion. Make sure you use a good gram scale and get them all exactly the same.

I balance all my weights. I just clamp them in a vice and touch the sides with a grinder. Usually spend more time weighing than grinding.

That depends on what you want to get, higher top rpm or a higher engagement?
Lighter tip is more top rpm, and a lighter heel is higher engagement.

On my 06 m7 i ground the stock 68 weights down to 65. There was a ridge in the center of the weight and i took that off so that it is now smooth the whole way. With an rk tech secondary and these new weights boy does she rip.
