I have a 2001 polaris edge 600. I had a mechanic replace all the top end gaskets and put new pistions and rings in this year. when i got it back it ran great. I ran double oil for a tank of gas to break it in and ran another tank of fresh gas that is when i noticed quite a bit of gas in the air box, when I would spin the track off the gound you could see the gas spraying into the airbox. I had a shop clean the carbs and check out the reeds, both were good. It still shoots more gas then normal into the air box and backfires ocassionally, especially when breaking hard or going down a steep hill. any suggestions

gas from carbs

Sounds like blowby from piston and rings not being seated. Might stop after 3-4 tanks or less. Don't use synthetic oil or sometimes will never seat. Only mineral based oil. Happy trails and smoke! Reeds???
