and to add to my previous statement...

It depends, in China the price of various tea may greatly differ from each other.Even in the same piece, their prices may be different extremely, such as 信陽毛尖茶(Xinyang maoojian tea, abbreviated to XM tea).XM tea with super quality is 5600 yuan(approximate 1000 dollar)per kg.However,XM tea with worst quality is 900 yuan(approximate 130 dollar)per kg,so it is hard to say the interval of price of tea.

Beign that there's such a big range in tea pricing, you'll find this interesting:

Believe it or not, almost all Chinese teas are made from one plant species, known as Camellia sinensis. It
is an evergreen shrub that can grow into a small tree and is native to Southeast China. The plants can
live for up to 100 years and the leaves are harvested year round. (The other plant from which tea is
made is Camellia assamica from India and most tea in the world comes from these two sub-species of
the Camellia plant)

I rarely delve into the economics of tea (thanks to a mysterious number-induced nausea), but I couldn't resist after finding a recent paper by Nancy Qian, a professor of economics at Brown University, entitled "Missing Women and the Price of Tea in China: The Effect of Sex-Specific Earnings on Sex Imbalance."

There has been an ongoing debate (see this 2005 article and a more recent rebuttal) since the coining of the term "missing women," which refers to a significantly male-skewed sex ratio through selective abortion and abandonment of females, especially in places like China, India and Sri Lanka where the cultural preference is for male children.
Many Asian populations are characterized by severe male-biased sex imbalances. For example, whereas 50.1% of the current populations in western European countries are female, only 48.4% are female in India and China. (Qian)
That discrepancy may not seem large, but consider the size of these populations: It translates into 44 million missing women in China in 1990, when the data were first published.

Qian makes the case that economics can directly affect this imbalance, however, and through a surprising source: tea. China is the world's largest producer of tea, churning out 835 metric tons in 2004.

Because of the low height of tea bushes there (about 2 1/2 feet), Chinese women have a distinct, natural advantage over the usually taller men in harvesting the delicate leaves.

If the price of tea rises, then, women's value economically stands to as well. And as tea is such a massive crop in China, this could start to equalize the country's male-skewed sex ratio.
Regarding relative survival rates for girls, increasing the price of tea can operate through [several] channels. First, it can increase the relative desirability of having a girl by increasing parents’ perceptions of daughters’ future earnings relative to that of sons. Second, the increase in total household income can increase the relative desirability of girls if for some reason daughters are luxury goods relative to sons. (Qian)
Paying more for your morning cup of tea, therefore, could be affecting far more than your wallet, if it does mean an increased economic value for women. According to Qian's research, an increase in tea's value boosts female survival rates as well as educational attainment in China.

Backing up my comments I offer this data.

Maybe coming in to this real late and I have read every post so far but things just dont add up.

I have never bought a sled from Dave, but he has serviced my 1000 a few times with cooper. I now drive a turbo yamaha but if I had any issues my suzuki kind quad, polaris sportsman, or ski doo skandic SWT, it would go to dave. This guy is honest.

I am not saying who is right or wrong, but when you barely know a dealer, and they really take care of you every time you go in there, you find it hard to believe sometimes that they could do this to a customer without something else happening.

My M1000 was having some issue cutting out. They couldnt figure it out so they started by taking out a ecu from a brand new sled. Take for a short drive and still happens.

Then swap out the plugs and power valve controller from this brand new sled. drive it, same thing.

They then take out the whole harness from new machine and cooper starts taking my harness out. I am drinking coffee watching (it is under warranty yet). The harness had a wire showing. They did all this extra work and didnt charge me a dime.

I didnt know them from Adam either. From then on, they have bent over backwards for any issues.

Not saying this didnt happen, Im just saying when someone has such great luck with a dealer, and all their friends as well. It is hard to hear that this happened and that maybe there is more to the story.

Dont be hating!

FWIW If he sent pictures of reeds to the factory he went out of his way to try and bone you.

Since we're on the east coast I haven't seen any 800 belt problems yet (ground is still bare, haven't been able to ride a single day this season)

I bought a MBRP can from Wasilla AC. It does not void your warranty. If any dealer tried to derail my warranty by taking pictures of some basic aftermarket, I would never use that dealer again. That's going out of your way to put the hurt on a customer that just dropped thousands on a sled.

that sucks. hopefully alot of people will stay away from that dealer. wounder why you guys in alaska and can. are having so many belt problams. I have 750 miles on my proclimb 800, the belt still looks great with very little belt dust. Ive talked to a number of people around here in utah with the new proclimb and not one of them are having any belt problams. alot of our riding has been on the trails this year for lack of snow. it finally dumped 4 feet of heavy snow and Ive had 4 rides about 40 mile each with no belt problams, my clutches are staying cooler than any of my m sleds did. clutching is all stock exept for a black poo spring in the primary 100/340 for lower engagment. our riding is at 7000 to 10000 feet about 125 horsepower if you guys are riding at about sea level wonder if the belt just cant stand the extra horsepower. sure hope you can get it figured out.

I live in summit county colorado and live at 9000 ft.. I ride from 10000 to 12000 ft. I have 600 miles on M800 and on my 3rd belt. Only way I can get my belt to not pull cords is to not pin it! Every time I hold the thing to the bar and try and have some fun my clutches get so hot you could smoke crack on them. I ride around with knife in my front pocket cause I use it so much. I'm so sick of it, this sled is worse than my 09' skidoo that I put almost 5000 miles on. My dealer told me I should 200 miles was good for a belts.. hahahah.. but that was from the parts counter guy. I have to baby my sled to make my belts last, what a joke. Should of bought a PRO!

I'd love to kick someone in the nutz over this sled, all I'm doing is kicking myself in the ballz for switching to cat when my dealer switched to polaris. Should of known when I bought the damn thing that I was going to get no support from them. So I'm left to waiting like everyone else for cat to fix it.

BCL.. would love to compare sleds to find out why my sled eats belts

I rode my buddy's 11' M8 last yr and loved it so much I decided to switch brands, not sure I made the right decision anymore. Couldn't even get a spare belt till mid Jan, but you guys know all about that. I usually never have anything to say on here, but I'm just so frustrated that I went from one belt eater (09' XP) to another. WTF!

Sorry Cedric... now that I know it's you... yer skrud bud... can't help ya!!!:face-icon-small-ton

There's some folks running different belts on this sled too... might want to grab one of them & save a few bucks as a backup as well.

hopefully we can get it figured out, I'm not in love with the sled... but for how we ride... the thing does feel great in the air (we'll do some "continuing testing" on that theory asap!!:face-icon-small-win) I'm staying in breck this weekend btw, we'll see if we can get out.

Thanks Kaleb, I was trying to stay on the DL..

I actually bought a dayco belt from Bikeman to see if it ran any cooler like he claims.. I just haven't had time to break it in.. I hate riding trail and it's such a pain in the as% to change belts on this thing (I'd like to punch the engineer in the face that made that design) that I don't want to change my belt unless I have too.

So I need a 10mm and a ratchet, then take the bolt off, remove the end cap, then use a big flat washer and screw it back in all the way to spread the clutches to change the belt then unscrew that bolt and remove the washer then reinstall the end cap with the correct shims and then screw the bolt back in to tighten the clutch back up. Simple.

Cause who needs to make quick belt changes when you have a TCL holding everything together in-line and making everything run cooler and last longer. :light: Brilliant!
