What's it for? Yeah I think so, they can be mounted in any position, and tend to really hold up well to vibration/impacts.

i have one that is 5 years old and even now it will start strong after sitting all winter.:light:

for a normal car mount....i say no....but something trick where its upside down....marine....or big draw such as stereos or hydros then yes....also howq much you pay....payed 109 for a yellow top 2 years ago....

Costco carries them now, I thought last time I looked the standard Red tops were only like $75. But they do carry them now....
I love them, my jeep sits for months sometimes and it always starts.

Replaced both dual sets of batteries in my GMC and the Jeep with Optima batteries... piece of mind... they have performed great todate...
Though I did have one Optima battery that would not hold a charge... it was under a 3 year warranty so got it replaced... I hear once these batteries have problems holding a charge (which is rare) then they are pretty much worthless and need to be replaced...

I also have a good experience with Optima Batteries, I bought a red top and had it in my truck, it had been over a 2 months since I stared the truck in below freezing temps and it cranked right over!! I was surprised and that sold me right there

i love mine lost my frist one last year it was 12 years old thow got thim in all my trucks and in my lawn mower

My oldest red top is 8 yrs, and still going strong in the cold Alaskan air.

I think they have came along way from when they first came out. I remember quite a few being returned for various warranty issues, this was 10-15 years ago
