My favorite company, Myoplex, has closed it's doors. No wonder I haven't ever gained any muscle, the stuff doesn't work. ha

Looking for something quick and healthy for either a mid morning snack, or mid afternoon snack too as I try to eat 6 small meals a day. I have been a fan of muscle milk leaning toward buying more of this.

What do you like and where do you buy it?

I recommend adding a high quality green drink to keep your blood PH in check, especially with this form of protein rich nutrition. This one has a decent/fair taste to it.

Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey or Intek Evolution Protein because I can get a decent price on them locally.

I have used both the twin lab liquid amino fuel (taste like crap) and muscle milk powder products and have been satisfied with both. Although I've never used them as "meal replacement" I think they are good options for protein supplements.

Sometimes after senior hockey tournaments in which you play four games in three days and I am totally spent I will use the muscle milk protein powder and make a homemade drink in the blender with skim milk, a few scoops of vanilla ice cream, a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a few big scoops of the muscle milk powder. Sometimes I'll even put in one or two eggs.

Regular chocolate milk and regular strawberry milk is a great plan B to replenish carbs and add protein.

Plan C is take left over doggie predisone tablets. Plan D is to combine both Plan B and Plan C. Plan E is to combine both Plan D and add left over tablets from my sons shoulder surgery.

A buddy of mine swears by a product called CytoMax which was made popular by the cycling community who seems to use it quite a bit. It is my understanding though that both CytoMax and muscle milk are now owned by the same company called CytoSport?

I'd buy Corepower over muscle milk, it's actually milk-based and more natural. That being said, most post workout shakes aren't the best in terms of meal replacement - they mostly consist of protein and sugars, not much else.

If you are talking about this Corepower:

It has waaaaay more sugar than muscle milk.

Most regular sized candy bars have less sugar than Corepower.

The corepower elite and corepower lite both have less than 10g, yes it's more than muscle milk but that's the price you pay for having real milk in the product. Look at the ingredients label for the muscle milk compared to corepower.

It's really nothing worth going back-and-forth about, I just prefer a product that's less synthetic as muscle milk. I think it's funny that it has "muscle milk" in big letters, then right below it "non-dairy shake".

Also, Thorne makes a good product if you're into powdered protein
