2012 xp wont go into reverse,sled is new to me,checked wiring from bars to dash,looks good,checked fuse on oil tank looks good,could it be the switch? pretty new to sledding any help appreciated

What's rpm is it idling at?
If idle is ok, check compression.

On the older sleds at least - too low of an idle and it won't work. Just rev it up "off idle" and try. If still not - it could be the button. You can touch the wires together to see if that does it. (They won't bite)

As I recall my 2010, the RER wires went direct into the main plug in the instrument pod. I found the pins were loose in the main plug. Tightened up the wire seats in the plug and got my reverse back.
After finding that, I went through and re-seated every plug on the sled. Fixed my fuel gauge in that episode.

Another response in the thread has a picture, and another comments that the wiring changed in 2011.
