Going to undertake swapping from a 155 2.6 to a 163 of some sort. What's a better track overall, Camoplast Challenger Extreme 163x15x2.5 or the Polaris 163x15x2.6

Also anything to know about swapping tracks before hand as far as the job goes. Already have 163 rails to swap on the skid

Thank you

The 2.6 is a phenomenal track, it's biggest let down is durability but I think if you install some Avid drivers and an antistab you'll greatly extend the life of the track. AKfullthrottle just fully clipped his to try and get more life out of it.

If your going bigger might as go all out and get the Camo X3 or even the X3.2. Both tracks will require 3" pitch drivers.

To put a 3” lug track on an axys, do you need smaller diameter drivers like you do on the pro?

If your sled came with the 2.6" track, yes, you will need to install 7T 3" pitch drivers (preferably drivers from Avid). Sleds that came with a 3" track already have 7T 3" pitch drivers, but the OEM drivers suck.

The 2.6 track is an awesome track, much prefer it over the 3" in most cases. Even in super deep it works really well, IMO it is the best track ever from Polaris.

I heard that the tracks with more bite than the 155 x 2.6, get more bite than the drive belts can handle. Which is why Polaris puts chain cases in the 163 x 3" sleds.

Why do you say you need 7T drivers if sked came with a 2.6? I just replaced my 16’ axys 155 2.6 with a camo 156 3x. Fit easily and works perfect.

All Axys RMKs come with 7T drivers, either 2.86" or 3" pitch. Your '16 with the 2.6" track uses 7T 2.86" pitch drivers, the 3"/3.2" need 7T 3" pitch drivers.

If your running a 3" pitch track with 2.86" pitch drivers it may "fit" highly doubt it's working "perfectly". Probably end up destroying the track and/or the drivers......

as far as both clearance and gearing go, can I take the 7T hex avids and camo X3 off my 2015 pro 163 and slap them onto a 2018 belt drive axys no problem? Thanks!

Id like to get into an 2018 axys, keep my X3 to save some $ and keep the belt drive benefits.

Should be able to, but I'd take good hard look at the drivers, making sure they aren't worn out or anything.

that said, would the shaft fit in directly, save pressing drivers...
The shaft will fit, but the bearing plate/flange on the PTO side is set up differently, i.e If I remember right, the Pro-Ride has nuts on the plate where as the Axys has studs on the plate or vice versa. Just keep the hardware with the respective drive shaft and it should be good.
