I just bought a new 2018. Updating over ten years so this chassis and the fox floats are new to me. Looking for suggestions on how much pressure to put in each front shock and things to set up on the skid?

is this factory suggestion or what you have dialed in? I have a new mountain cat as well.
Far from factory.
They recomend 85 in skis, 35 FTS and 165 RTS.
That is horrible! I don't have a clue who would like that setup? Professional Hill climb racers maybe?

It has the Fox float 3 on the fronts suspension and the rear skid and arctic cat ifp on the front skid.
So glad I read this post, heading out to Cooke for Maiden Voyage on Sunday, I had shocks set to factory specs, i thought it seemed a little stiff in the front...85lbs
??I'll switch to your setup as I am about the same weight RTR, what dial settings do you use mostly for off trail...1,2, or 3/lockout?

I run them in 2. 1 is to squishy on the skis. Track, i cant remember if i went down to 1 or not?

What lead you to this set-up, have you played around with it a alot? What do you like about it? Just curious what you have all tried and what worked and didn't....

I tried 55 psi in the front and it felt a little too mushy for me. I wouldn't personally run any lower than 60psi in the front. The rear I have setup less so I can still get ski lift, which I personally like to keep the front end up. The way I have it setup is similar pressure wise compared to what I had on my 16, but since the shocks are valved completely different it doesn't feel the same. I have less ski lift on the 18 stock over the 16 with Toms revalve. When I'm not jumping I also like the shock settings on 1 out of 3.
The dropped driveshaft on the newer sleds should give less ski lift than past models with the same spring settings since the track is contacting the snow at a shallower angle.

I am 260 with all my equipment and I still don't run factory. 60-65 in the fronts. I haven't really messed with the rear yet, but I tried 55 in the center track, and 130 in rear track, and it suit me decently. That was my first time out and the snow was pretty set up.
I just want to make sure these pressures that you are talking about our measured outside at riding temperature correct? The set up that the cat manual calls for specifically says to set those temperatures at 70 degrees (shop temp). I did notice a 10 psi drop from 70 degrees in the shop to 20 degrees outside temp. I have them set now at 66psi fronts, 50ft, and 130rt @20degF. Took it out for a rip in the drifted out ditch, felt pretty good!

I set mine up in my shop which is around 40-50deg. So yes while pressure will go down in lower temps you also have the flip side where pressure readings at the same temp go up with increased elevation. If you want it dead nuts, then check pressures at your riding elevation in 20deg.
