What is the benefit of the 47C belt over the 45C?

The correct "As Built" Length opposed to the "Advertised" or "Specification" length, respectively.

Which should answer MH's question as well. The AXYS was designed to run the same belt length as the PRO Ride, but when the AXYS RMK actually got built it was not.

Some of you have been asking about the 47 Gates belt. It is now the belt I prefer over the 45.
Dobeck Performance will stock them.*(406) 388-2006‬

How do they measure in reality?

45C4553 is spec'd at:
1.442" wide
46.704" long

47C4572 is spec'd at:
1.469" wide
46.875" long

Mainly asking for width, because the 47C is supposed to be .027" wider, which would throw off belt to sheave clearance significantly.

How many of you guys trying the TRS set-up have drilled your motor straps and got the motor positioned 100% square? Or at least what he had recommended in the Pro forum? I think like .030" lead in.

I bought all the parts (gearing, weights, springs, helixes, exhaust springs, thermo mod) and have half dozen sets of the TCP Lightning weights. I tried the setup on probably 8 trips out west. Did everything except slot the motor straps. Had the same results as ^^^^^^. Good response, good shift/backshift but would start slipping the belt halfway up the clutch.

I'm not the expert, but kinda just decided to drop it for now till I have time to pull my motor and get it properly aligned. It's .090"-.100" depending how I hold the ruler.

Can’t slot the motor strap on an Axys in the conventional way as there is no longer a motor strap on the Axys. Lower case directly bolts to the motor mounts.

I’ve been absent for a while. I’ve been riding. Have nearly 1800 miles on the ‘18 Hill Pumpkin and just over 300 miles on the ‘18 mule(it’s in the shop with gremlins).
I did not measured the 47 belt. It is a touch wider because it’s a 28* belt like the 115. Not the 26* of the 183. The 47 will create belt dust during break in. I did pull a cord on one at 400 miles. But I didn’t break it in correctly, I rode it like I stole it.
I’m a little reluctant to post my current setup. I’ve ran it in all types of conditions and has been working “for me” for nearly 600 miles. I need to set up another sled to see how it performs for their riding style. This is on a chain case 3” 162” stock Polaris track, stock pipe and can. 8-10,000’. No mods outside of clutching and revalved shocks. With a very loose track compared to Polaris spec. But here it is, 100-275 primary (gold)spring, 58.6g Lightning weights, 100-150 secondary (red/yellow) spring, 40-32F helix, 19-41 gearing, 47/45 belt.

Tony, you're getting real close to your old setup on the NA Pro where you ran a 100-150 spring with the 46-32f helix. I am setting up a buddy this week with a NA Axys but I only have a 46-32f helix. Any guesses on what spring to use?

We ride 5-7000' feet and its a belt drive sled geared down to 2.28:1 final drive ratio, 165 conquer track, 170lb rider. I only have down to 64g weights though so I'm hesitant to go that really light on springs with him.

Hey Tory, have you been able to confirm these measurements? Do you happen to know if these measurements are supposed to reciprocate the Polaris 3211115 and 3211183 belts?

So far; the original 46-32F and a 125/175 spring, 100/275 primary with 68.8 weights.
155 stock track, pro gears.

Want to go lighter on the weights, but seeing 8200-8300 so not bad. Pulls good and if you have any traction you get speed fast!!

Poor season, but this is working. Want to go 66gr weights and see..

Lets revive this thread for the 850 platform!

I had a hybrid TRS setup om my former axys 800 turbo sleds and was plenty of happy with it.
And now i think im gonna run NA with the new 850 for the first year before i turbo it.

So far this new engine seems to pull alot harder down low then the 800. And we need to keep the revs at 8100-8150 for maximum effiency.

So what do you guys think we should try on the 850?

I see that Indy have done some lightning weights. I guess he just copied the profile of the originals?

Don't be reluctant. It's a beautiful light weight/light spring combo. Way easier on clutch wear and on the top end prolly has better legs.
That and you worked hard to get it to where it's at.
Love the setup.

First day out with the full TRS setup in the 850. It's a 163 2.6 with Pro RMK pulley gear down. Put in 67.9g lightning, stock primary spring, 44-32f helix, 125/175 secondary spring, stock 850 belt. Rode 18-24" fresh at about 6000-7000'. Pulling 8350 RPM. Locked in at that RPM no matter the load, whereas with stock clutching my RPM was all over the place. Needs some tweaking I think, but for a first crack at it, pretty darn good.

2018 axys 800 belt drive 156 camo extreme 3". pro drive pulleys. SPI Pipe/can
61.9 TRS weights
120/320 primary spring for 5-7k riding.
140/340 primary for 8K+ (need something with lower start, I can hit rev limiter out of the hole sometimes)

42/32F Helix
125/175 secondary spring

Aligned and primary shimmed per Tony's specs.

This setup flat RUNS. Clutch heat and fade on pulls is nothing compared to stock setups. It doesn't feel as aggressive out of the hole like 10 series weights. but my clutch sheaves are clean as a whistle so im not going to complain a bit. Also, this setup shifts out and doesn't ever feel like it hits a wall. Want to open it up and track poach for bigger runs up the hill? It just keeps shifting given the chance.

I cant thank Tony enough for all his hard work and resources he brings to everyone. I was about ready to ditch my sled I was so sick of clutch performance. Now I just keep running myself out of gas because I don't have to stop to let belts cool down.

Thanks Nick and Tory.
New kits will be shipped with a T27 wrench and .010” and .012” spider shims. Should help ease spider/clutch sheave alignment and remove the helix fasteners.
