Talking to a buddy today, says he was invited down to southern BC to test ride a prototype sled next week. Says the rep was very vague about what he was riding, but likely a 900 twin in the XM chassis. Can anyone confirm or deny this rumor? Mentioned another prototype as well, but it it too good to be true, so I wont repeat it.

My guess is a 4 stroke turbo in the XM chasis. No 900...not needed. PERHAPS a weight reduction by belt drive...

I would expect minor updates to the xm. I would expect to see all of the summit models switched into the xm chassis as well.

What I hope for is a factory 900 etec. Belt drive, freeride shock option on the x model, flatter front of the rails, and an even further loosened up DI programming for us mod guys.
And how about a full race option with light exhaust, bumped compression, 900, freeride premium shocks, lightweight everything plus stiffeners where necessary. Sell it without a warranty under the same guidelines as the 600rs sled. Sell it for 11k

We can always dream

Been wondering that also. In the market for a new sled but with the lack of snow this year might as well wait see what comes out for a spring order or just wait and buy a hold over at a cheap price.

I'm guessing by the way things go.
Minor tweaks to the xm and xs chassis and all xp plastics to get new body work or at least Xrs and freerides and budget sleds stay xp

I heard instead of a factory turbo option like Yamaha they'll be strapping two rockets to the tunnel for 30 seconds of rocket propulsion! My buddies uncle's sister-in-law works for ski doo so I'm Kim of in the know.

3 years 3 new sleds. I was hoping this year Doo rode their success with BNG just so I wouldn't have to snow check a new sled, lol. 900 ETEC and 50lbs off would be my hope.

The only way I see a 900 coming from Doo if it is a triple or a 4 stroke. 900cc is just too much for what Doo likes to see for reliability..too much for the tight tolerances of fuel and oil for the etec as well. problem is triples and 4 strokes are too big and heavy. And since they have the etec they will not need 4 strokes for a while. I hope they keep coming up with awesome new technology for us mtn riders so the other manufacturers can copy and improve:face-icon-small-coo

history has shown that the next couple years will be color changes and rider feedback updates until a significantly new chassis is unveiled.

I bet they narrow up the panels next year. Hopefully they don't narrow up the foot boards too far, the XM is so much more confortable to move around on for me than the Pro....

Yeah I love my XM but the rear torsion springs have got to go. It's time to provide a proper shock setup with their skids.

Maybe they will finally move into the 2000's and loose the rear torsion springs...

Gotta admit they're quick/easy to adjust and you can always get the HD versions for about $70.00(ish).
