Just as the topic states, can I run 8" wheels on the stock axle. I have a 2000 grand touring 136 that I've put a 1.75 track, single seat, dropped the rear suspension bracket to the lower hole and the front torque arm. I plan on machining the axle down to make a DIY 2 wheel kit, just not sure if I'll be able to run the stock axle with the 8" wheels. Anyone already have a similar set up?

No. You would have to run an aftermarket offset axle to run 8" wheels. That or rails designed with that size in mind.

Ok cool thanks. I think they are 6.75" rears but I'll have to check when I'm outta work. Can I use a rev offset axle? Cuz I've been having a hard time finding one for the zx.

Mountain machine performance used to make them. They seem to have dropped off the planet. I may have some off sets if you find a freedom axle.

Heres a couple links to peeps who can help. Rev axle will work with correct off sets.

Xpsenziv- thanks for the links, I checked them out but didn't see anything on their sites. I'll have to give them a call on Monday and see what they can do for me.

So just to clarify I can use a rev axle? I just have to find one with the correct off set for the wheels that I want. I.e. If they are 6.75 wheels now and I go to 8" I would need to find an axle with a 5/8" off set. And the rev axle should bolt right up correct?

Again thank you guys for all the info. This has been the most helpful site I've found for snowmobiling, no one ever answers on those other sites.
