top off your oil. Top of your fuel.

Ride

When you get back measure the amount of oil used in oz.

Fill up with fuel. Multiply your gallons of fuel by 128.

Divide oz of fuel by the oz of oil and you will have the ratio.

So

10 gallons of fuel, and 26 oz of oil.

10x128=1280

1280/26=49.23

so 49.23:1.

Had an 01 800 that had a bad oil pump. Boondock all day, no problem, but if going more than 10 miles on a trail at 40 to 50, it would seize. Shop had to order in the tooling to test my pump. It's a graduated tube that they hook to the pump inlet, then run the engine at idle for 5 minutes, then at 3000 rpm for 5 minutes. Oil usage is compared to guidelines Slam dunk way to confirm oil pump performance.
